Rain avalanche

Rain avalanche

Located in Yubeng Scenic Spot, Yunling Township, Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, with an altitude of 3000 meters, surrounded by mountains on all sides, and a unique geographical environment.

Historically, there is only one post road to connect with the outside world. There was no road to connect with before. There are two post roads in the direction of Xidang and Ninong to enter the rain avalanche. The Xidang post road is more convenient. You need to walk or ride a mule. You need to climb 12 kilometers uphill and 6 kilometers downhill, and cross the 3700 meter pass. Now there is a public road (260 yuan/person for one way). However, it is dangerous and expensive to enter the rain avalanche by car.

Yubeng Village is divided into upper and lower villages. The upper village can lead to the Sino-Japanese joint mountaineering base camp climbing Kawagbo, while the lower village leads to the Yubeng Divine Waterfall. Along the way, you can see the wonders of ancient seal script and five trees with the same root.

The rain avalanche hiking route is an epic hiking route in China. It is praised by the donkey friends as "the last piece of paradise on the earth", "heaven on the top, rain avalanche on the bottom", "the vast peach garden at the foot of Meili Snow Mountain", "the holy land under the water" and "the paradise of hikers".

Yubeng Village in Chinese and Yubeng Village in foreign languages is located in Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, with a population of more than 20 households. The traffic is only connected to the outside world through a post road with an altitude of 3000 meters. The full-day ticket price is 230 yuan (including 150 yuan for the viewing platform of Feilai Temple). The famous scenic spots Yubeng Divine Waterfall, Yubeng Ice Lake, and Ninon Canyon are recommended to travel for 2-3 days. It is the best time to travel in spring and autumn, sports fitness.

geographical environment

It is a magical and beautiful place. Walking in it makes people feel like a paradise. Yubeng Village, located at the east foot of Meili Snow Mountain, is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Due to its unique geographical environment, it is sparsely populated. There are only more than 20 households in the village, and there are two post roads in the direction of Xidang and Ninong, which are more convenient.

Yubeng Village has a unique geographical environment and is sparsely populated. In ancient times, there was only one post road leading to the outside world. Therefore, some people said that it was the "Xanadu" described by Tao Yuanming; Experts at home and abroad believe that this is the epitome of Shangri-La.

Due to abundant rainfall, special geographical environment and climatic conditions, the ecological growth of plants in Yubeng Village is dense and strange. Many other plants can often be seen on the trunk of some old trees. This strange phenomenon is called "five trees with one root".

Panorama of Shangyu Collapse Village

Shangri-La is the only place to go to the rain avalanche. This place with all kinds of fantasy and flashiness now not only represents the secret place in a book, but also explores the nerve center of the whole Yunnan-Tibet region. Every day, countless passers-by come and go here. People all hope to start from this "Shangri-La" and go to the "Shangri-La" full of unknown and expectations.

Kawagbo is the first of the eight sacred mountains in Tibet, and is known as the "mountain god" by people. Meili Snow Mountain is his alias for bad luck. This is the most famous place before the avalanche. In addition to the spectacular Rizhao Jinshan wonders and strong religious atmosphere, the invincible and famous mountain disaster also put a mysterious and awesome veil on Kawagbo. The whole mountain suddenly stands out from behind the cliff, conveying its beauty and majesty to the deepest part of the soul at the same time.

When the first ray of dawn in the morning lit up the highest point of the main peak Kawagbo, the pyramid-shaped main peak began to be slowly dyed red from top to bottom, and Kawagbo was put on a bright red cloak like a hero, as handsome and bulky as the legend. Meanwhile, the southernmost peak of Maintsam is also the wife of the legendary main peak Kawagbo. Her shape looks like the main peak, but she is more beautiful and graceful. At this time, it is also lightly lit. At her feet, it is the real destination of the trip - rain avalanche.

Yubeng people have maintained the traditional lifestyle of farming and animal husbandry for hundreds of years. The wooden bungalow, the fence of the courtyard built with rocks, and the cattle, sheep, mules and horses walking leisurely on the earth-rock road all show the isolation and tranquility of the village.

Due to the terrain, Yubeng Village is divided into Shangyubeng and Yubeng. Yubeng is located in the depression in the mountain valley, and Shangyubeng is built according to the mountain situation. There is only a few hundred meters between the rain and avalanche, but it takes about 40 minutes to walk the mountain road.

infrastructure

Before September 2012, it was the last natural village without electricity in Yunnan Province to rely on household small water motors or solar power generation. The provincial party committee and the provincial government put forward the task goal of "comprehensively solving the problem of electrification of the population without electricity in the province in 2012". On September 28, 2012, the 10 kV power grid in Yubeng Village was fully completed, put into operation and electrified. Mobile phones also have signals.

Related legends

It is said that the rain avalanche was not known to the outside world for a long time. Later, an old man often went to Xidang Village on the edge of the Lancang River to borrow food. Nobody in Xidang Village knew where the old man came from, so someone followed him, but he always walked and disappeared.

Later, someone came up with a way. When the old man came to borrow grain again, the Xidang village said, "This time I will not lend you highland barley, nor wheat, but millet."

When they helped the old man carry the bag on his shoulder, they took the opportunity to prick a hole in the pocket. The millet flowed all the way, and the villagers followed closely to find a huge stone, but the millet was gone. They were very strange. When they opened the boulder, they found a village below. The rain avalanche was discovered by the outside world

Strange folk custom

Due to long-term isolation from the outside world, Yubeng Village still retains many simple Tibetan folk customs. Among them, the most surprising thing to the outside world is the phenomenon that brothers marry only one wife and do not separate their families. The donkey friends met many such examples in Yubeng Village, and finally understood what was going on.

It turned out that the Yubeng villagers advocated that there was only one mistress in a family. After the brother married his sister-in-law and went home, as long as the brother did not split up, the brother could also treat his sister-in-law as his wife. The family would live like this forever.

However, once that happens, a "reality" problem arises again. If a brother has only one wife, whose child is it? According to the results of the donkey friends' inquiry, many families will solve this problem. Last year, my brother was at home, and my brother went out to work. The next year, my brother came back, and my brother went out. In this way, it is not easy to find out. However, even if it is not the biological father, the children will call their brother to be "father", regardless of intimacy and harmony.

Tourism strategy

Yubeng is located in the deep of a remote mountain. There is no direct public transportation (plane, shuttle bus, bus, etc.), and the road conditions are very difficult. For safety reasons, most of the donkey friends do not choose to travel freely, but start from Lijiang or Shangri-La newspaper group.

Avalanche landscape

After swimming in the Mingyong Glacier, head south to Xidang Village, and then ride a horse from Xidang Village for about 6 hours to Yubeng Village. Along the way, you can see many Tibetan people who turn the mountain and hikers.

You can also take the shuttle bus from Deqin County directly to Xidang, where you can see the snowy mountains on the way. If it is late, you can stay at Xidang Hot Spring (locally known as "Hot Water Pond") in the south of Xidang Village for one night, 30 yuan/person.

The next day, ride a horse from Xidang to Yubeng Village. The cost of riding a horse is about 185 yuan from the mountain to Yakou, and 235 yuan from Yakou to Yubeng Village (Shangyubeng). The scenic spots such as Divine Waterfall and Ice Lake are 12 kilometers away from Yubeng Village. The long holiday will be increased by 50 yuan.

In the past, you can only walk or ride horses or mules to enter the avalanche. Now the highway is open (260 yuan/person for one way). However, it is dangerous and expensive for mountain roads. It is not recommended to enter the avalanche by car.

Board and lodging

If you can eat with the villagers, it is very simple. Butter tea, baba and potatoes can be a meal. But we went to the inn. You can imagine that an egg costs 5 yuan, a small bowl of egg noodles costs 15 yuan, and a pot of local chicken costs 180 yuan (the chicken tastes good, but it is cut into small pieces, and the taste is very light). Basically, the taste of the dishes is not very good.

Both Shangyubing Village and Yubing Village have opened many hotels, including an international youth hostel (which can be booked through the Internet). The room is very simple, and 60 yuan per standard room. The hotel can provide food and drink at a high price. You can also choose the Sino-Japanese joint mountaineering base camp. It is not recommended to camp in Yubeng. There have been cases where campers freeze to death.

Nowadays, there are many good inns in Yubeng Village, generally including WiFi, public bathrooms, electric blankets, etc. The price is around 100-200. Home-style snacks can be eaten in the inn. Yubeng Village has been connected to 4G network. [1]

remind

1. Before going to Xidang Village, you'd better book a horse in advance to avoid waiting there.

2. The base camp can be arranged to play with the ice lake. The lake water is blue.

3. With the increase of hikers, Yubeng Village is not as simple and quiet as Xanadu. More local villagers have converted their houses into hotels and sold them to outsiders. The scenery is good, but it is not as backward as expected.

4. Yubeng Village only has mobile signals and can access the Internet. Xidang Hot Spring is only 10 yuan/person now, and it takes 7-8 hours to climb on foot. The cost of horse riding has climbed to more than 200.

Tips

If you are not Superman, please deposit your 60 or 70 litre backpack in the Feilaisi Inn and put it in a small package on the necessities for 2 or 3 days. Because you will face a 17 km mountain road, climb over the 3700 m pass from the 2650 m altitude to the Yubeng Village at the foot of Meili Snow Mountain. This section of the high road, tourists are prone to plateau reactions, so you should carry high anti-drug when you plan to go to the Yubeng.

Rain avalanche

Keep your belongings as simple as possible, including underwear, toiletries, medicine for trauma (muscle soreness and bumps are unavoidable when walking), and a small amount of dry food and water.

Of course, you can choose to rent a mule with all the equipment. It costs 235 yuan for one way, which is more expensive than a Benz taxi. The bag can also be carried by a mule driver. The small bag costs 10 yuan and the big bag costs 40 yuan.

If you do so, don't come back and brag to your friends that you went hiking in the rain. Even if you ride mules, you have to come down and walk on your own, because it is too dangerous.

Three fifths of the way into the rain avalanche is uphill, and there are three rest stations in total. The section from Xidang to the first rest stop is the steepest. Many hikers lost the battle just after starting, and asked the local people to go back and help the mule up. In fact, as long as you stick to it, it is not so difficult to walk to the back.

Climbing stick can reduce the force on the knee by 15%, which has been proved to be true by practice. Climbing 45 degrees or even 60 degrees slopes, the role of walking stick can not be underestimated. In addition to borrowing force, when the foot slips, the third support point of walking stick can avoid falling. It is necessary to suggest that friends who don't have climbing sticks at least find a bamboo stick.

It is best to keep company with fellow donkeys on the way. The road is extremely narrow, and there is a cliff on the side. Be careful when you meet a mule team. It is best to stop and pull aside. Like most winding mountain roads, there are also straight up and down shortcuts between the Z-shaped mountain roads in Yubeng, which are steep and difficult to walk, but much closer than the mule path, clean and capable of climbing.
