Travel season editing and broadcasting

Hiking on the Grand Ring can be done at any time of the year, although the conditions will vary greatly when the seasons change. The most suitable time is October to November after the rainy season, which is also the busiest season for the inn, followed by March to April (spring before the rainy season).

Spring (before the rainy season): March to May

From March to April, the average daytime temperature at the foothills of Pokhara is slightly lower than 30 ℃, and the snow mountains are often covered by clouds in the morning. The northern area is drier and the visibility is very good, but there are also bursts of downpour from time to time. The azalea blooms from mid-March to the end of April, especially in Boone Mountain and Tadapani. In April, it rarely snowed at Gaoshan Pass. Spring is also the golden season for bird watching. In May, the southwest monsoon hit, making the foothills very sultry and uncomfortable when walking. But the weather at high altitude is very good.

Summer (rainy season): June to September

The rainy season usually comes in early June and lasts until late September. The damp heat in the low altitude area is uncomfortable, rainstorm is raging, and leeches crawl all over the jungle. The mountain often collapses, and when the wildflowers are at the right time, the clouds hovering overhead will suddenly open a gap, revealing the snow-white mountain top, which is surprising. Lumle in the northwest of Pokhara has an annual rainfall of 5000 mm. The the Himalayas form a front here. It is different when crossing the water ridge. The north side of the mountain is dry and rainless. The annual rainfall of Lo Manthang in the upper Mustang area is less than 100 mm.

Autumn (after rainy season): October to November

The best season for hiking. In October, the rain cleaned the air very clear, the visibility was the best, and the climate was mild. The low-altitude area is still warm in the daytime, and there will be frost at night after more than 3000 meters. Further up, it may snow at any time, so you need to bring enough warm clothes and warm sleeping bags.

Winter: December to February

It is very cold day and night in the mountains, and it will snow at an altitude of 2000 meters. It is dangerous to try to cross the Tolong Fortress (mainly from the cold and snow), and many inns will be closed. The benefit of fewer tourists is that it is possible to enjoy the quality services that are difficult to meet in general, such as washing clothes with hot water.
