The Republic of C ô te d'Ivory, La R é publicque de C ô te d'Ivory, also known as C ô te d'Ivory, means "Ivory Coast" in French. At the request of the government, the People's Republic of China transliterates its name as Cotediva. The United Nations has been using this phonetic translation since December 31, 1985. It is a West African country adjacent to Ghana, Liberia, Guinea, Mali, and Burkina Faso. The coastline is about 500 kilometers long, with a land area of 322463 square kilometers. The capital city is Yamoussoukro, with a population of 29.38 million (2022) [20]. There are 69 ethnic groups in the country, divided into four major ethnic groups: the Aken ethnic group accounts for about 42%, the Mandi ethnic group accounts for about 27%, the Walter ethnic group accounts for about 16%, and the Kru ethnic group accounts for about 15%,sports fitness   .

During the Middle Ages, some small kingdoms were established within the territory. Ivory Coast is located on the Gulf of Guinea in western Africa, bordering Liberia and Guinea to the west, Mali and Burkina Faso to the north, Ghana to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea to the south. The national area is 322000 square kilometers, slightly rectangular in shape, approximately 600 kilometers long from north to south, and over 500 kilometers wide from east to west.

In the northwest, there are Mount Mangda and Qiuli mountains with an altitude of 500-1000 meters, in the north, there are low plateaus with an altitude of 200-500 meters, and in the southeast, there are coastal lagoon plains with an altitude of less than 50 meters. The highest peak in the entire region, Ningba Mountain (on the border between Kenya and Guinea), has an elevation of 1752 meters.
