Tanzania

The United Republic of Tanzania, abbreviated as Tanzania, has its capital in Dodoma and is located in eastern Africa, south of the equator. It borders Kenya and Uganda in the north, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique in the south, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the west, and the Indian Ocean in the east. The total area is 945087 square kilometers (including 2657 square kilometers in Zanzibar), with a coastline of 840 kilometers. The eastern coastal areas and some inland lowlands belong to a tropical grassland climate, while the western inland plateau belongs to a tropical mountain climate. As of 2022, the total population of Tanzania is 61.74 million (including 1.88 million in Zanzibar), belonging to 126 ethnic groups,    sports fitness  .

Tanzania is one of the birthplaces of ancient humans. In the 7th to 8th centuries, Arabs and Persians migrated in large numbers. In 1886, the mainland of Tanganyika was designated as a German sphere of influence. In 1890, Zanzibar became a British protectorate, and in November 1917, the entire territory was under British control. After World War I, it became a British appointed territory. After World War II, the United Nations resolution changed the mainland of Tanganyika to a British "trust territory". After a long period of struggle, the people of Tanganyika and Zanzibar officially declared independence on December 9, 1961 and January 12, 1964, respectively. On April 26, 1964, the United Republic of Tanganyika and Zanzibar was formed, and on October 29, it was renamed the United Republic of Tanzania.

Tanzania is one of the least developed countries in the world. The economy is mainly based on agriculture, and food is barely self-sufficient in normal years. Industrial production technology is low, and mineral and tourism resources are abundant. [8] Tanzania is a member of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the East African Community (EAC), and the African Union (AU). It is also a member of international organizations such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), and World Trade Organization (WTO). In 2021, Tanzania's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was 70.323 billion US dollars.

Tanzania is located in eastern Africa, south of the equator, between 0 ° 29 '-11.44 ° S latitude and 29.14 ° -40.30 ° E longitude. It consists of two parts: Tanganyika (mainland) and Zanzibar (island), with a total territory area of 945000 square kilometers (including 2654 square kilometers of Zanzibar). It borders Kenya and Uganda in the north, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique in the south, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the west, and the Indian Ocean in the east.

The terrain of Tanzania is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, forming a stepped shape. The eastern coastal areas are lowlands, while the western inland plateau area accounts for more than half of the total inland area. The Great Rift Valley in East Africa is divided into two branches, east and west, running north-south from Lake Malawi. The Kibo Peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in the northeast of the country has an altitude of 5895 meters and is the highest peak in Africa.
