The Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) are a group of British West Indies located in the Atlantic and Caribbean Seas of North America, with an area of 430 square kilometers. Located at the southeastern end of the Bahamas, 920 kilometers from Miami, Florida, USA, and approximately 145 kilometers from the Dominican Republic and Haiti. The east is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, and the west faces the Bahamas across the water. Composed of 40 small islands from the Turks and Caicos Islands, 8 of which have permanent residents, sports fitness  .

Belongs to a tropical grassland climate. The annual average temperature is 27 ℃, with relatively little precipitation, with an annual precipitation of only 750 millimeters. The annual sunny period lasts for more than 350 days, and May October is the Caribbean hurricane season. Each island is composed of limestone and has a low and flat terrain, with a maximum height of no more than 25 meters. Coastal coral reefs are abundant, making it the third largest coral reef location in the world.



The economy is mainly dominated by high-end tourism and financial services (accounting for 90% of the economic structure), with a per capita GDP of 25000 US dollars. However, manufacturing and agriculture are underdeveloped, and the required goods heavily rely on imports. The capital is located in Cockburn Town on Grand Turk Island.



According to the 2019 TCI Tourism Bureau's statistics, the number of tourists is about 1.6 million, and the main city of Providence's Grace Bay Beach attracts a large number of high-end tourists every year; British TCI, British Cayman, and British Virgin Islands are known as the world's duty-free paradise.

The archipelago is geographically an extension of the Bahamas and has a similar structure. The altitude does not exceed 25 meters. The 35 kilometer (22 mile) wide Turks Islands Ocean Passage separates the Turks Island Group to the east from the Caicos Island Group to the west. The islands are surrounded by coral reefs. The climate is warm and pleasant, slightly dry. The annual temperature ranges from 24 to 32 ℃ (75 to 90 ℉), with an average temperature of 27 ℃. The average rainfall is only 750 millimeters, and there is a lack of drinking water, so strict water conservation measures will be implemented. The hurricane season is from May to October, with hurricanes hitting approximately every 10 years.

Plant types include shrubs in dry areas, sprouting forests, sparse grasslands, and swamps. Mangroves, cacti, and Caribbean pine can be seen everywhere, and there are also trees planted with ephedra to prevent wind damage. Land dwelling animals include insects, lizards (especially iguanas), and birds such as white storks and red storks (also known as flamingos), and the archipelago is located along the routes inhabited by migratory birds.
