From 1819 to 1829, the Republic of Greater Colombia was formed along with present-day Colombia, Panama, and Ecuador. The Federal Republic of Venezuela was established in 1830. In 1864, it was renamed the United States of Venezuela. In 1953, it was renamed the Republic of Venezuela. In 1999, it was renamed the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. geographical environment
Regional location
Venezuela is bordered to the north by the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, to the east by Guyana, to the south by Brazil, and to the west by Colombia. In the offshore waters of Venezuela, there are island states such as Aruba, the Dutch Antilles (all Dutch overseas autonomous territories), and Trinidad and Tobago.

topographic features
Venezuela's national terrain can be divided into three regions:
The northwest and northern mountainous areas, mainly the Merida Mountains, the northeast branch of the Andes, are the largest mountain range in the region. The top is covered in snow all year round, with glaciers and frequent earthquakes. The Bolivar Peak has an altitude of 5007 meters and is the highest point in the country. To the northwest of the Merida Mountains, there is the largest lake in Latin America - Lake Maracaibo, with an area of 14344 square kilometers. It is connected to the Caribbean Sea to the north and reaches a maximum depth of 250 meters at the southern end; The water in the south is light, while the north is slightly salty. The swampy lowlands surrounding the lake area are world-renowned oil producing areas.

The central Orinoco Plain consists of a grassland in the western half and a delta swamp formed by the Orinoco River mouth in the eastern half.

The southeastern Guiana Plateau has an altitude of 500-800 meters. The largest drop in the world, Angel Falls (with a drop of 979 meters), is located on a tributary of the middle reaches of the Caroline River.

Climate characteristics
Except for mountainous areas, the climate within the territory is basically tropical grassland. The temperature varies with the amount of precipitation and the height of the ground. The mountains are mild, while the lowlands are hot. The annual average temperature is 26-28 degrees Celsius. The annual average precipitation increases from 500 millimeters to around 3000 millimeters from the northern coastal area to the south. The Orinoco River basin, which has the highest precipitation, has an average annual precipitation of over 3000 millimeters. The driest areas are located along the northern coast, with an average annual precipitation of only over 550 millimeters in cities such as Laguaira Port and Malakai. The rainy season is from June to November, and the dry season is from December to May of the following year.
